Model R Explainer

Turning an installation guide into a Wes Anderson film.
Overview
For a company like Aunt Flow, the boring installation guide wasn’t going to cut it for their new flagship tampon and pad dispenser,
the Model R.

Aunt Flow and its founder, Claire Coder, are both bursting with energy, and we knew the set design and overall tone of the film needed to reflect that vibrancy. The solution? A highly-stylized explainer film to keep facilities managers engaged while still informing them just how easy it is to work with Aunt Flow.

We needed to match Aunt Flow's energy with a vibrant film.

In keeping with Aunt Flow’s brand, this film asserts the needs and rights of menstruators rather than shying away from a traditionally taboo subject. Aunt Flow’s environmentally-friendly tampons and pads are the hero of this film, along with Brianna Rhodes, an Aunt Flow brand spokesperson.

Aunt Flow is a landmark brand in Columbus. I have a ton of respect and admiration for Claire Coder, the founder, and the Aunt Flow team. It’s an honor to be able to collaborate with them. It was especially rewarding to work on this project in order to help them expand their client network. Go Aunt Flow!

People Helping People, Period.
Not only does Aunt Flow provide sustainable products to businesses and schools, their operating model also ensures the end user, menstruators, are never charged for the product. Additionally, every 10 menstrual products purchased means 1 pad or tampon will go to a menstruator in need. Their social good is inspiring! Our production crew and editing team put their best foot forward to bring their vision to life, while feeling good about being part of the larger movement in our society.

From day one, I've been impressed with the entire Serif team. The quality of their work is exactly what I was hoping for, and we also had a ton of fun together while collaborating on our recent video project. Love working with Serif!

Step By Step
There are many discrete steps to installing and refilling the Model R. Our goal? Making it as clear and simple as possible. We took on the challenge with the perfect crew–one with an eye for the details. Our diligence and meticulous approach paid off with an understandable AND entertaining film. It even helped Aunt Flow add to their client roster (Hey, Apple!)

Being part of the larger mission of helping public facilities understand the importance of free period products was a meaningful experience--especially as someone who was in a similar situation as Claire was during her first period.
